Intercanthal distance is one of the reliable anatomic dimensions to be used as a preliminary method for determining the width of the maxillary anterior teeth during the initial selection of the teeth for an edentulous patient. The aim of this research is to study the relation of intercanthal distance and maxillary anterior teeth widths among Malaysian female Malay, Chinese and Indian students of Faculty of Dentistry in Padjadjaran University.
The type of research used was descriptive study with analytical cross-sectional method. The sample size determination used in this research was stratified random sampling technique.
The data is analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk test and Levene test. Based on the results, it shows that there is positive correlation between intercanthal distance and maxillary anterior teeth widths in Malaysian female Malay, Chinese and Indian students.
Thus, this can be concluded that there is a relation of intercanthal distance and maxillary anterior teeth widths among Malaysian female Malay, Chinese and Indian students of Faculty of Dentistry in UNPAD. -
