Forensic odontology is important in criminology and disasters because human teeth has high resistance towards environmental changes, it ease in human identification. This aim of the research is to access the enamel print patterns of Chinese ethnic in Deutero - Malay sub race based on extracted deciduous teeth. The descriptive research design was done on Chinese ethnic in Deutero � Malay sub race population based on inclusion criteria of subjects aged 6-8 years. A total number of 31 extracted anterior deciduous teeth samples were used. The enamel print patterns were analyzed using biometric software called SourceAFIS-1.7.0.
The results showed predominance of wavy branched (33%) and linear branched (22%) and the least one is loop, stem-like which is (2%) of enamel print patterns in Chinese ethnic in Deutero-Malay sub race. Enamel print patterns determined by deposition and secretory rate which depends on family hierarchy.
In conclusion, that the majority of enamel print patterns found in deciduous teeth of Deutero-Malay Chinese sub race is wavy branched and the least one is loop pattern. -
