The objective of this research is to identify the predominant lip print pattern in Students of FKG UNPAD batch 2014 using the photography method and thus becoming a reference for the researchers in the future.

This research method used is descriptive analysis. A total of 80 samples from FKG UNPAD batch 2014 were chosen using purposive sampling method. Tripod was set up in a bright area tested by Lux Light Meter App with a measured distance using a ruler meanwhile the samples were asked to hold an ABFO Scale No.2 as a tool of identification of distortion. The photographs were analyzed using an Adobe Photoshop CS3 software to identify the most prominent and dominant fissure that located in the primary quadrant 2, 3, 6 and 7 on the lips.

Based on the research, the results found to be by using the Lux Light Meter Application with the Lx of 56 on sample number of 65 with 72%, the distance of 0.3 on 82 samples with 91% and also usage of ABFO Scale No.2 as identification tool of distortion. Meanwhile, the most common lip print type found is Type I compromises of 30% and the least to be found is Type V with percentage of 1%.

The conclusion of this research is the best features of photography skills with the amount of light 56Lx, distance of 0.3m from the lips of samples and also using an ABFO Scale No.2 as an identification tool for distortion and the most common lip print type is Type I as the dominant lip print type among students of FKG UNPAD 2014 using the photographic method.
