  • Periapical radiography describes intraoral techniques designed to show individual teeth and the tissues around the apices. The purpose of this research is to describe the condition of periapical radiograph post-dowel crown treatment on patients attending RSGM UNPAD. The method of this research is by using descriptive method with secondary data collected up to 46 dowels with 31 patients from January 2018 until February 2018.
    Of the 31 patients, 14 of them were male (45.16%) and 17 of them were female (54.84%). The age of the patients was divided into 3 age groups which is Late Adolescent (18-25 years old), Early Adult (26-40 years old) and Late Adult (41-55 years old) (Depkes RI, 2009). The majority consist of patients from the age group Late Adolescent (48.39%). The sample involved nearly all from the maxillary teeth (93.48%), with tooth 11 (32.61%) and tooth 21 (36.96%) the more common teeth observed. It is also stated that the samples did not include any molars, maxillary premolars and mandibular canines. Almost two-third of the cases involved having 1 dowel (61.29%) in the mouth, followed closely by having 2 dowels (32.26%) in the mouth. Based from the result on tables and diagrams presented, a discussion has been made. The following is a discussion on the survey report gathered from the research. In this study, the periapical radiographs were described during 1 week control of post-dowel crown treatment. This is done to identify the condition of the tooth that were treated endodontically.
    As a conclusion, female subjects are the majority subject with 17 patients. This research found that the highest incidence of case occurs in Late Adolescent age group which accounts to 6 cases of periodontal pathologies while the lowest incidence belongs to the Late Adult age group, with only 1 case of periapical pathology. Lastly, in all 3 age groups, there were zero cases of caries, fractured restoration and root fracture due to limiting methods used.
