The aim of this research is to study dental fear in children with autistic disorder in Bandung. Method: This study used descriptive method by cross-sectional study. 30 subjects aged between 4-12 years old were selected from five different autism centers in Bandung by purposive sampling method. Dental fear among autistic children was studied by using questionnaire filled by parents. Results: 90.0% of autistic children were afraid of the pinch feeling felt in subjects gum during local anesthesia and 83.3% of children were reported to have scared responses when having a strange taste from filling or gloves present in subjects mouth. The least fear triggering factor for autistic children was sitting at the waiting room in dental clinic. Discussion: Children with autistic disorder were found to have high sensitivity towards taste, touch and motion stimuli. Their sensory defensiveness often make them to exhibit uncooperative behavior during dental visit.
