  • Introduction: Natural disaster can take a lot of human lives, so it requires a process
    of human identification such as age estimation. Dental age estimation can be used
    as an alternative method on identifying chronological age because teeth are the
    strongest body structure. Pulp is a dental anatomy that diminishes vertically and
    horizontally with the age. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship
    between pulp length and width ratio of maxillary lateral incisor and chronological
    age. Methods: This study employed 134 panoramic radiograph data from Dental
    and Oral Hospital of Padjadjaran University since 2013 – 2018 with the age range
    of 11 – 60 years. Purposive non-random sampling is the technique used to take the
    samples of this research. The pulp length and width ratio were measured by Fiji
    ImageJ-Win64 in millimeter. The measurement results were carried out by simple
    linear regression analysis using SPSS software. Intraobserver and interobserver
    reliability were measured to evaluate trustworthiness of the measuring instrument.
    Result: The linear regression analysis showed that there was a significant
    relationship between the pulp length and width ratio of maxillary lateral incisor
    and chronological age (p
