  • Domestic waste is untreated wastewater that is coming from some housing activities like washing, bathing, kitchen activities and so on. Domestic waste tends to be ignored because of its non-direct impact. The problem of untreated domestic waste becomes one of the most complicated problem especially in future because of accumulation effect on body water. Along ncreasing of population in Bandung, the process of managing domestic waste must be starting to considered to prevent further contamination to the river that causing of wastewater disposal by citizens without treatment first.
    This research was taken in Bandung at Kantor Pusat Pengembangan dan Penelitian Sumber Daya Air (Pusair) that involving citizens in RW 09, Kelurahan Dago. This research is using mix method that combine kuantitative and kualitative method. Aim of this research is to know the effectivity of the process of treatment domestic wastewater using constructed wetlands with surface flow techniques. Then, some parameters of wastewater quality are also including of this research, like Total Solid Suspended, BOD, COD, Total Amonia, Detergent, Fat and Oil, Nitrat, Nitrit, Organik Nitrogen, pH, Total Phospat, and Coliform Total. The other purpose of this research is to get sustainability aspects on managing of domestic wastewater with constructed wetlands with surface flow techniques in some aspects like economic, social, technology, and environment.
    Based on the result of this research, effectivity value of ability the constructed wetlands to reduce the pollutant on some variation of debites 0,01 L/ sec; 0,05 L/sec dan 0,1 L/sec are diverse. Almost all parameter, like Total Solid Suspended, BOD, COD, Total Amonia, Detergent, Fat and Oil, Nitrat, Nitrit, Organik Nitrogen, pH, Total Phospat, and Coliform Total have range percentage around 25% to 97,5% in each parameter. The differences of debite variation influence in the value of effectivity of constructed wetlands to treat that domestic waste. Then, indeks of sustainability of domestic wastewater treatment process in Pusair Bandung is 62,7% with category simply sustainable; economic dimension is 62,5% ; environment dimension is 75%; social dimension is 33,3% and technology dimension is 80% in each.
